A. Yes, it’s the law. A funeral home in Canada cannot refuse to accept the casket or increase their services charges. You don’t have to buy a casket from a funeral home.

Disclaimer: Orders must be placed by 4 pm cut-off time to guarantee delivery within 48 hrs. Any orders placed on Friday after the 4 pm cut-off time, will not be processed until 10 am on the following Monday.
Q. Why are your caskets a lot cheaper than a funeral home?
A. We buy our inventory in bulk directly from the manufacturer(s). We stock and sell our caskets at wholesale prices on low profit margins, unlike funeral homes selling at very high retail prices.
Q. Can you guarantee the quality of the casket?
A. Yes, we at RIP Caskets Inc., go through an extensive quality control process at the factory to ensure our caskets are of the highest quality.
Q. How come the funeral home does not recommend buying a casket online?
A. Quite frankly, the funeral homes do not want you to purchase caskets elsewhere because it takes away business from them. Having the consumer protection law on the side of the customer, this allows the buyer to buy directly from vendors like RIP Caskets Inc.
Q. What if the funeral home will not accept the casket?
A. Canadian consumer protection laws encourage fair trade and protection for the consumers, the funeral homes have no choice but to accept any casket chosen by the customer from a third party casket supplier. Moreover, they cannot institute any extra fees or costs to accept caskets from a third party vendor.
Q. Can I buy the casket for later use?
A. Yes, you may buy a casket for later use. However, we do not recommend it. We understand there are exceptions based on an individual's circumstances. We offer three months free storage.
Q. What kind of packaging do you use?
A. Our caskets are packaged in industry standard packaging consisting of durable styrofoam edge guards, plywood padded angle guards encased in a three tier cardboard, fastened by durable high density nylon belts. This packaging is made specifically to prevent any type of damage when loading and unloading the casket.
Q. Is ordering a casket online a complex process?
A. Our online ordering process is quite simple. Just browse our online catalog of caskets for whatever suits your choice. Should you have any questions please contact us. We accept all major credit cards. We also accept E-Transfer payments. Call us if you wish to pay using E-Transfer method. Our Customer Service Center will contact you immediately after you place your order to confirm all the necessary details and coordinate timely delivery.
Q. Do you offer free delivery?
A. Yes, we offer FREE delivery anywhere in the Greater Vancouver area except Langley, Maple Ridge and beyond.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. At RIP Caskets Inc., we accept all major credit cards and online E-transfer payment. For urgent same day delivery only E-transfer payment is acceptable.
Q. Are your prices of caskets inclusive of taxes?
A. No. All purchases of caskets within Canada are subject to applicable taxes (PST & GST).
Q. What kind of details will I have to oversee once I submit my order?
A. We know that you have a lot on your mind, so we do our best to ensure that you do not have to worry about the details of your order. We will coordinate the delivery timing with the funeral home, once the order has been placed and confirmed with full payment.
